February 25, 2020

Good evening, my name is Sia Lo and I running for Congress in the Fourth Congressional District.

Here is a little bit of information about me. I am a 54-year old attorney married to the love of my life, Mayka Lee, and we have four beautiful children. I grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Johnson Senior High School, and currently reside in White Bear Lake. Like all of you, we are pretty busy, and Grandma still tells us all what to do. In addition to our children, we also have two dogs, a turtle, a rabbit, a lizard and a tank full of fish.

My family fled Laos in 1973 after the Communists took over our country. They were looking for my father because he worked for the CIA. My father and the Hmong soldiers fought the North Vietnamese communists for 15 years to a standing still under the leadership of General Vang Pao and the CIA.  We lost approximately 30 percent of our entire population.  Because of our sacrifices, we were allowed to immigrate to the United States as refugees.  If there is anyone that understands the cruelty and destruction of communism, it is us. If there is anyone that understands that freedom is not free, it is us.

But our sacrifices for freedom did not go in vain for since our arrival four decades ago. We have been working hard to achieve the American dream. Many Asian-Americans have become doctors and lawyers, teachers and business leaders.  My niece Sunisa Lee even won a world gymnastics gold medal representing the United States. So simply put, we have climbed every mountain, crossed every stream and followed every rainbow until we found our dream.  And, that dream is America.  And America is beautiful and we love her.

I am running for office because America have done so much for me and now it is time for me to give back to her what she has given me. I am also running because the American Dream that we found is being threaten by those that are pushing for dangerous ideologies like Socialist and Communist ideas.  Those that believe in socialism and Communism believe that government has all the answers and can be the provider and protector for all.

These ideologies will destroy the very fabric of the freedom that created America and what made us the best country in the world. It is the belief that all men and women are created equal and that we are endowed by our Creator with the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

I am proud of our president. What President Trump has accomplished in the last three years is amazing. He has brought us back onto the path of greatness. But he is going to need an ally in Congress from our congressional district.  I intend to bring the fight to Betty McCollum in all precincts throughout this district like we have never seen before. My team has already pledged to out work her between now and November 3rd. President Trump deserves to have a teammate elected from St. Paul and suburbs, and I intend to be that person.

Thank you for taking the time to participate in this process. I look forward to meeting each of you on the campaign trail.

Warmest regards,

Sia Lo

Precinct Caucus Attendees, Fellow Republicans & Friends,
Just as it was the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District in the 115th Congress, it is an equally great honor to have my name before you this evening, ready to take on Senator Tina Smith as our Party’s candidate for the United States Senate.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for coming out to exercise your right to self- governance and self-representation.
I am running for the United States Senate for a simple but crucial reason- I am seeking to protect our Constitution, American values and way of life from a radical Democratic Party that undermines them on a daily basis.

As the father of two daughters, I wonder what kind of future we are leaving for our children and grandchildren. Will we allow them to grow up in a free and prosperous nation that affords opportunity to every man, woman, and child based on their own hard work? Or will we condemn our children and grandchildren to a Socialist country where speech is restricted, Constitutional rights are trampled upon, and the light of freedom and opportunity are snuffed out?

Our efforts over the next ten months will decide that question.
President Trump enthusiastically endorsed my candidacy at his Minneapolis rally in October by declaring on national television “I’m also proud to endorse your next Republican Senator, a man that I’ve known, a man that is tough and smart, a man that’s running against somebody who’s never done a damned thing in the Senate: Mr. Jason Lewis.”

Make no mistake fellow Republicans, I am the only candidate in this race who will have the President’s back when I get to the United States Senate.

President Trump came within a point and a half of winning Minnesota in 2016. The state is rapidly changing, and this transformation can be accelerated if we work hard and work together. I’m fighting for every vote in every corner of this state- since announcing my campaign in late August we have visited over 60 of the 87 counties and we have traveled nearly 10,000 miles.

Whether it’s in Greater Minnesota, the Twin Cities or the suburbs- where I was able to outperform the top of the ticket in BOTH of my campaigns for the House of Representatives), I will be fighting for every last vote and building a coalition of Minnesotans who are ready to roll up their sleeves and fight for our country’s future.

Senator Tina Smith can and will be defeated. She is a career bureaucrat who made her living as a Planned Parenthood executive, and recently she voted to remove a sitting, duly-elected President from office without a shred of evidence, all while ignoring Minnesota’s needs and interests. She and her radical Party want to restrict free speech, they don’t believe you should have the right to keep and bear arms, they want to outlaw the internal combustion engine and shut down our mines and pipelines with insane proposals like the “Green New Deal.” They want to dismantle and abolish private health insurance. They believe in open borders, unrestricted and even post-birth abortion. Tina Smith has got to be stopped, and when I’m your nominee for United States Senate- she will be.

Please visit LewisForMN.com for more information about how to get involved with our team. There you can read more about my “Contract with Minnesota,” a ten-point campaign platform that includes protecting the tax cuts and regulatory reforms I worked with President Trump to pass as a member of Congress. I also discuss my commitment to appointing conservative judges, protecting and fighting for the unborn, securing our borders, helping our farmers and agricultural industries, and fighting for good-paying energy, mining, and logging jobs- especially on the Iron Range. I will protect our healthcare system from the radical takeover schemes being pushed by the Socialist Democrats, defend our right to keep and bear arms, and ensure that our veterans are being taken care of.

And so, I humbly ask you to put your name forward to be a delegate at your upcoming BPOU convention, and I humbly ask for your support so that we can send a resounding message to all Minnesotans: Not only will Donald Trump be the first Republican Presidential candidate to win Minnesota since Richard Nixon did it in 1972, but with your help I will be the first Republican U.S. Senate candidate to win since 2002.

I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail soon, and I thank you for your support and participation tonight. God bless you, God bless Minnesota, and God bless the United States of America.
