The Saint Paul Fire Department protects the life and property of the people of Saint Paul.

Our dedicated firefighters, public educators, support staff and maintenance personnel form an effective team that is proud to serve the residents of our Capital City.

There are 15 fire stations throughout the City. The firefighters and medics work 24-hour shifts to keep the City safe and make Saint Paul, America’s most livable city.

Personnel duties encompass much more than fire suppression. Additional duties include:

  • Emergency medical calls
  • Hazardous material incidents
  • Extrications
  • Search and rescue
  • Public education at special events
  • Station tours
  • Blood pressure checks

Make Sure Your Home Is A “Safe Haven!”

The Saint Paul Fire Department invites homeowners in Saint Paul to take part in Project Safe Haven. With this FREE program, you will schedule a time for a crew of four firefighters to visit your home and ensure you have working smoke alarms and a carbon monoxide alarm. If needed, they will install new smoke alarms, a carbon monoxide alarm, and StoveTop Fire Stops for you, FREE of charge. They can also help you with planning your family’s escape plan, cooking safety, general fire safety tips and much more!
