Where is the MN GOP Booth at the MN State Fairgrounds?

Often times people who volunteer for the MN GOP Booth at the MN State Fairgrounds ask where is it. The formal address of the MN GOP Booth is 1702 Carnes Ave, Falcon Heights, MN 55108. It is on the south side of the block between Underwood St to the east, and Nelson St to the west.

Even if you know where it is the crowds can be disorientating, and one street there looks like the next one.  Though there are simple directions to follow depending on what gate you enter.

Directions

From the Eastern Gate on Snelling & Midway Parkway (Midway is where many Park & Ride Shuttles drop off & pick people up). You enter Dan Patch Ave (western side of Midway Parkway) go through the first intersection of Cooper St, then continue on until you get to Underwood St. Take a left and go one block south to Carnes St and then take a right and halfway down the block on the left is the Booth. If you miss Underwood St, Dan Patch will curve to the left and become Nelson St. Go down a block past the Big Slide and turn left on Carnes.

From the Southern Gate 9 on Como Avenue

Most people like to cross the Sky Bridge over Como Avenue from the Como Avenue State Fair Parking Lot. Also people are dropped off next to it in a drop off site near the MN State Fair Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum.  The Miracle of Birth building is to the right of the Coliseum. However you go whether it is down Clough St or around the other side of the Miracle of Birth building you’ll end up on Judson Ave. From this point turn Right and go about a half a block to Nelson St (the Haunted House is on Nelson & Judson Ave).  Take a left and go north on Nelson St to Carnes. You’ll pass the Kare 11 TV Booth, and there’s an arcade on the corner of Nelson & Carnes, turn right here. Halfway down Carnes is the MN GOP Booth

From the NW Transit Hub Drop off Gate:

When you enter the gate here to your right is the History & Heritage Center. To your left is the State Fair Grandstand. There is a BBQ place and another Sweet Martha’s Cookies buildings.  There are usually long lines here to get cookies one could easily bake at home for far less money (but it’s the State Fair everything is expensive). One could do a diagonal bee line to the corner of Carnes & Dan Patch Ave West but there’s a lot of little booths here so it’s easier to trace the Grandstand exterior on your left. You’ll go passed an area where water is being misted and just beyond that you’ll run into the DFL Mini-Donut Stand (Grandstand Mini-Donuts) trace the big Ramp that goes to the upper levels of the Grandstand to the bottom where the Minneapolis Star & Tribune booth is located. From here you’ll be on Carnes street a half block from Nelson St. The Booth is half a block from Carnes & Nelson intersection on Carnes.

From the Northern Gate 2 Handicapped Parking Lot:

The Northern Handicapped Parking lot borders the north side of the State Fairgrounds and Larpenteur Avenue. There are entrances to it off of Larpenteur on Underwood St, and off of Hoyt Avenue on Snelling. Though unsure which is open this year. If you happened to have parked here or have an RV set up here this is the following way to find the MN GOP Booth. The gate is at Underwood St which is to the west of the North End Event Center. Just continue south down Underwood St. It’s a bit of a walk. When you cross Dan Patch Avenue just before it curves and becomes Nelson St you are very close to the Booth. Go down a block south of this intersection to Carnes St and turn right. The Booth is across from Dino’s Gyros and the French Meadow Bakery & Cafe.

The Red Marker is where the MNGOP Booth is located. South of Como Avenue is the State Fair Parking Lots. The big empty area is another parking lot. Park and Rides are the best way to get to the Fair

If you happen to seek where the MN GOP Booth is at one of the many information booths, and you don’t want to let on you’re a Republican (though your MAGA Trump hat might be a clue) you can ask for the two well known places it is between, the WCCO Booth, or the oldest attraction at the Fair, Ye Old Mill ride. Across the street from it is the Dino’s Gyro’s booth too. One of Sweet Martha’s Cookie Booths is next to the WCCO Radio Booth.

This is what it looks like when the State Fair is not in operation during most of the year.

WCCO has some water fountains there. The MN GOP booth has a drinking fountain behind the booth in the back near the nice seating area.

We at HD 66B Republicans are posting this as a courtesy to the Republican Party of Minnesota and to the Voters in the state. We were not directed to do so, but it’s easy to get lost at the State Fair.  Some people have asked why the State Party doesn’t open their booth during the Back to the 50s Car show in late June.  Perhaps they should as most of the Car Show visitors are conservatives who would like to see gas taxes reduced.  This is a repost by permission from the website saintpaulrepublicans.us which isn’t the SPRCC website. –admin
