Proudly serving the city of Saint Paul, the Republicans of Minnesota House District 66B want to help you live a better life.

Where is the MN GOP Booth at the MN State Fairgrounds?

Often times people who volunteer for the MN GOP Booth at the MN State Fairgrounds ask where is it. The formal address of the MN GOP Booth is 1702 Carnes Ave, Falcon Heights, MN 55108. It is on the south side of the block between Underwood St to the east, and Nelson St to the west.

Even if you know where it is the crowds can be disorientating, and one street there looks like the next one.  Though there are simple directions to follow depending on what gate you enter.

Directions

From the Eastern Gate on Snelling & Midway Parkway (Midway is where many Park & Ride Shuttles drop off & pick people up). You enter Dan Patch Ave (western side of Midway Parkway) go through the first intersection of Cooper St, then continue on until you get to Underwood St. Take a left and go one block south to Carnes St and then take a right and halfway down the block on the left is the Booth. If you miss Underwood St, Dan Patch will curve to the left and become Nelson St. Go down a block past the Big Slide and turn left on Carnes.

From the Southern Gate 9 on Como Avenue

Most people like to cross the Sky Bridge over Como Avenue from the Como Avenue State Fair Parking Lot. Also people are dropped off next to it in a drop off site near the MN State Fair Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum.  The Miracle of Birth building is to the right of the Coliseum. However you go whether it is down Clough St or around the other side of the Miracle of Birth building you’ll end up on Judson Ave. From this point turn Right and go about a half a block to Nelson St (the Haunted House is on Nelson & Judson Ave).  Take a left and go north on Nelson St to Carnes. You’ll pass the Kare 11 TV Booth, and there’s an arcade on the corner of Nelson & Carnes, turn right here. Halfway down Carnes is the MN GOP Booth

From the NW Transit Hub Drop off Gate:

When you enter the gate here to your right is the History & Heritage Center. To your left is the State Fair Grandstand. There is a BBQ place and another Sweet Martha’s Cookies buildings.  There are usually long lines here to get cookies one could easily bake at home for far less money (but it’s the State Fair everything is expensive). One could do a diagonal bee line to the corner of Carnes & Dan Patch Ave West but there’s a lot of little booths here so it’s easier to trace the Grandstand exterior on your left. You’ll go passed an area where water is being misted and just beyond that you’ll run into the DFL Mini-Donut Stand (Grandstand Mini-Donuts) trace the big Ramp that goes to the upper levels of the Grandstand to the bottom where the Minneapolis Star & Tribune booth is located. From here you’ll be on Carnes street a half block from Nelson St. The Booth is half a block from Carnes & Nelson intersection on Carnes.

From the Northern Gate 2 Handicapped Parking Lot:

The Northern Handicapped Parking lot borders the north side of the State Fairgrounds and Larpenteur Avenue. There are entrances to it off of Larpenteur on Underwood St, and off of Hoyt Avenue on Snelling. Though unsure which is open this year. If you happened to have parked here or have an RV set up here this is the following way to find the MN GOP Booth. The gate is at Underwood St which is to the west of the North End Event Center. Just continue south down Underwood St. It’s a bit of a walk. When you cross Dan Patch Avenue just before it curves and becomes Nelson St you are very close to the Booth. Go down a block south of this intersection to Carnes St and turn right. The Booth is across from Dino’s Gyros and the French Meadow Bakery & Cafe.

The Red Marker is where the MNGOP Booth is located. South of Como Avenue is the State Fair Parking Lots. The big empty area is another parking lot. Park and Rides are the best way to get to the Fair

If you happen to seek where the MN GOP Booth is at one of the many information booths, and you don’t want to let on you’re a Republican (though your MAGA Trump hat might be a clue) you can ask for the two well known places it is between, the WCCO Booth, or the oldest attraction at the Fair, Ye Old Mill ride. Across the street from it is the Dino’s Gyro’s booth too. One of Sweet Martha’s Cookie Booths is next to the WCCO Radio Booth.

This is what it looks like when the State Fair is not in operation during most of the year.

WCCO has some water fountains there. The MN GOP booth has a drinking fountain behind the booth in the back near the nice seating area.

We at HD 66B Republicans are posting this as a courtesy to the Republican Party of Minnesota and to the Voters in the state. We were not directed to do so, but it’s easy to get lost at the State Fair.  Some people have asked why the State Party doesn’t open their booth during the Back to the 50s Car show in late June.  Perhaps they should as most of the Car Show visitors are conservatives who would like to see gas taxes reduced.  This is a repost by permission from the website saintpaulrepublicans.us which isn’t the SPRCC website. –admin

Be Wary of the DFL Mini Donut Stand at the MN State Fair

10th Ward Rural Ramsey DFL Donut Booth is located to the Left of the Ramp into the Grandstand.

Be Wary of the DFL Mini-Donut Stand at the MN State Fair

The DFL Mini-Donut Stand is at Coordinates 44°58’51.5″N 93°10’25.0″W

DFL Mini-Donut Stand Satellite Map

If you buy products from this mini-donut stand you will be unknowingly (or knowingly if you are a DFLer) funding DFL Candidates through the Best Fair Foods Political Action Committee, what had been the 10th Ward Rural Ramsey County Political Committee, through 2020 when it was terminated to start under the new name.

Some Recent DFL recipients since Redistricting in 2022:

  • Senate District 66 DFL in 2022 received $6300. The 3 SD 66 DFL candidates that year were Rep Athena Hollins, Chris “Leigh” Finke, and Clare Oumou Verbeten. The latter 2 were running for the first time for office.
  • Mostly DFL Party Units for SD 36, 39, 40, 44, 65 and 66

So it is up to you to be wary of this location.  With every purchase there you are helping DFLers defeat Republicans in Minnesota.

Retired Career Politician, Phyllis Kahn, DFL stands in front of the “Grandstand” Mini-Donuts.

Now these folks make a lot of money at the state fair from mini-donuts that would make the health conscious zealots cringe.  The booth is not marked as the DFL Mini Donut Stand,  there is no disclaimer on the booth as to where the money of this group goes to.

There ought to be a law that requires them to reveal who they are and where the money goes.

Rep Randy Jessup & Sen Roger Chamberlain tried to Make a Law

Almost every session of the MN State Legislature, there is a bill that Republicans put together that requires groups that raise money at the State Fair or other public events to show on a visible sign where the money goes to.  It isn’t making their operation illegal, but they want the customers to have all the information about the vendor before they make a purchase.

During the 2017 Session former Rep Randy Jessup of 42A & former Sen Roger Chamberlain SD 38 had made similar bills that were added to the Omnibus bill.  They were not signed into law by then DFL Governor Mark Dayton.

Rep Jessup did say there is a limit on the number of bags of donuts one can purchase–4 bags.  Any more than 4 you purchase they will have to make a record of it being a contribution.

They do tell their volunteers who work there to not wear any sort of political statements on their clothes, hats, or even buttons.

This article is just to identify where the DFL Mini-Donut Stand is. This post is by permission from the saintpaulrepublicans.us website. If you don’t want to give money to the DFL to defeat Republican candidates then you can find another Donut Stand, or to Sweet Martha’s Cookies which is nearby.  If you are a DFLer and you want to fundraise then that is up to you to.  It is just unethical of a party sympathizer to not be open about where their excess money goes. — admin

#ProLifeSunday Happy Aunts & Uncles Day July 13, 2025

One of the most important lessons to learn from naturalized citizens is how they respect their extended families.  It seems at some point Americans stopped including their extended families in on family get togethers.  Conservatives have kept a family orientated platform and that’s why we’re adding extra family holidays to the ones that are highly commercialized such at Mothers & Fathers Days as well as the often forgotten Grandparents Day.

Since Families are the cornerstone of the Pro Life Movement we have called these Family holidays as #ProLifeSundays.

Aunts & Uncles are very important to the rearing of children. They sometimes do babysitting chores, or they add a bit of understanding to a child’s life their parents are too busy to instruct.

It is important to show your nephews and nieces their parents were once in their shoes.  It’s a loving bridge between generations.

We’ve noticed we only celebrate Moms, Dads, and Grandparents but not anyone else in the Family.  So we’ve added Brothers, Sisters & Cousins Day in August, and we’ve added Friends & Colleagues Day in October.

If we Americans want to have a rich fulfilling life we need to reclaim the extended family.  We admire immigrants who honor the extended family and 1st or 2nd generation families who still give homage and respect to their elders.

So go call your Aunts & Uncles up today and let them know how much they mean to you.

Happy Aunts & Uncles Day!

43rd Annual Hmong International Freedom Festival June 28-29th, GOP Booth #144

Republican Booth is #144 Near Gate 2 on the Northeast corner of the area the Hmong International Freedom Festival (HIFF) J4 is at. See the Map below. Gate 2 is near the Eastbound 3A Bus Stop for the Como Park Aquatic Center.  Just west of Como-Horton & Lexington Intersection.

J4 as it is known to Hmong as a time to celebrate freedom with family, food, and sports.

It’s that time of year again, the first weekend prior to July 4th, when the Hmong people celebrate freedom at McMurray Fields of St Paul, MN (1151 Jessamine Ave W).  Hmong International Freedom Festival J4 Street Map  Make a note that there are 2 intersections of Como Avenue & Lexington Ave as seen in the Street Map link. The northern one has Como Avenue on the west side of the intersection and Horton Avenue on the east side. The southern intersection has Como Avenue on the east side of the intersection and Wynne Ave on the western side of the intersection with Lexington. So if you tell someone you’ll meet them at Como & Lexington, tell them which one.

The Republican Booth is in the Northeast part of this map (upper right, in the light green area) near the intersection of Como & Lexington Ave nearest to Gate 2, #144
Circled in Red is Booth 144. On the Top of the page is West Como which across from Horton Ave. Gate 2 is near the Eastbound Aquatic Center Bus stop (3A Bus)

Lexington Avenue is to the East of the Fields.  The Metro Transit 3A Bus travels along Como Avenue, and the 83 Bus travels north and south along Lexington Avenue.

The Hmong People who have settled here in the St Paul MN area really know what Freedom feels like.  General Vang Pao brought the Hmong people here from the refugee camps in Southeast Asia after the end of the Vietnam War.

It is with great anticipation that this year’s 43rd Annual Hmong Freedom Celebration Sport Tournament will be hosted by The United Hmong Family on Saturday, June 28th and Sunday, June 29th, 2025 at the Como Park’s McMurray Field. The event will provide ample spaces for various vendors that are not just local community members, but from all over the world.

Booths will be set up for food, traditional and culture items, educational and informational and other general merchandise. Most of the festival goers are relatives and friends who travel a short distance of a couple of miles to across the ocean from former homeland in Asia. Others are spectators who come to cheer on one another as well as taking part in one of the competitive sporting venues in flag football (both men and women’s), Sepak Takraw (Kato), Soccer (men/women’s), tuj lub (top spinning), volleyball (men/women’s) and other fun and games for all ages, and physical ability. They have a lot to accomplish within the short amount of time.

Hmong Sports Tournament includes Flag Football, Soccer and Hmong specific sports.

A Hmong player kicks the ball across the net during a game of Sepak Takraw (Kato), a volleyball-like sport without the use of hands. Traditional balls are made of wicker.

Also known as KATO

Volleyball of both Men & Women’s teams.

The above information was found at the theunitedhmongfamily.org website, and photos were found online. We found the parking information and the event fee, as well as the explanation of the rules of Kato on VistSaintPaul.com website. The posting is a courtesy to our Hmong friends & neighbors.  We will post the winners from each sports category. — admin
