HD 66B Republican Sample Ballot

Here is the Sample Ballot for Republicans and other voters who want to vote for Republican Endorsed and Primary Winners.

We’ve used a computer Paint Program to darken in boxes for the Endorsed Candidates in HD 66B, SD 66, CD4, and 2 statewide races of MN Secretary of State, and MN Attorney General.  There were 3 Primary Winners who beat the Endorsed candidates and we’ve darkened in the boxes for them too. Those would be for Governor/Lt Governor, US Senator, and MN State Auditor. There is 1 write-in candidate for Governor/Lt Governor that we know of and that would be Brad Kohler/Shauna Breyer

We’ve left open the Judges and MN Supreme Court Justices and Appeals Court Justices as they are running unopposed, those are on the back of the ballot. You can vote for them or write in your own (make up names if you want).

There are 2 Ballot questions. One is a Constitutional Amendment to give more money to the Minnesota Department of Education. The way it is worded it is deceptive. Our MN HD 66B Republican Candidate, Mary O’Neal is a substitute teacher and she voted “No” on it as she says the schools already get too much money and they spend it foolishly and 1/2 of kids can’t read or do math at their grade level now. It’s the curriculum that needs to be changed as well as licensing as well.  Here’s a graph of how well the school district has done as a District, and also imagine a rising line of increasing cost to educate kids in the DFL run School District.

We’ve left open the Right to Repair Ballot question in St Paul as it seems it might be a good idea with unintended consequences like the Rent Control passage had. The amount listed on it seems a low amount especially for contracting a tradesperson to fix something in your apartment. Though it might get landlords to respond quicker to maintenance requests. So that is left blank.

We’ve selected 3 St Paul Public School Board Candidates. It is a nonpartisan election in which you can vote for none, 1, 2, or 3. The top 3 vote getters will be seated. It is not Ranked Choice Voting. There is only 1 incumbent, Uriah Ward please don’t vote for him. He is the Chair of the Board and hasn’t told Chauntyll Allen who stormed Cities Church with Don Lemon to resign. He also advocated to remove SROs and keep disruptive students from being suspended or expelled from school, thus making schools unsafe. The 3 DFL endorsed candidates are (Stephanie Anderson, Omar Syed, and Uriah Ward).  From Our recent post on St Paul School Board Suggestions, we suggested the following based upon their answers in the LWV Forum:

Tamara Mattison, Michael Schell, and Teresa Glass

Even though the Ramsey County Commission District 3 race is nonpartisan, one of our delegates, Greg Copeland is running as a nonpartisan Candidate. He has been endorsed by us in the past for legislative offices. The LWV Forum pits him against 3 DFL endorsed candidates, 2 uncontested candidates and Garrison McMurtrey who is married to our State Senator Clare Verbeten. That forum link is here.

There is one extra consideration about Greg Copeland’s opponent and that is the possible violation of MNCFB rules about expenditures for a lit piece surrounding 2 ballot questions on the ballot in St Paul’s municipal election in 2025 by St Paul DFL.  It was a defunct party unit last year and they couldn’t have paid for a lit piece last year. Here’s a post from Saintpaulrepublicans.us talking about this, “SPRCC Chair Calls for St Paul DFL to be Held Accountable.”  What it doesn’t say is that Garrison McMurtrey was the Chair of Record of the St Paul DFL at a time when he was elected in a Special election for Ramsey County Commission District 3 from February 2025.

We darkened in the box for Sheriff Fletcher. We did not for John Choi, he is running uncontested and his office is responsible for a lot of people not being prosecuted properly.  Was thinking of writing in Perry Mason (though we need to find a good candidate next time).

We’ve erased the precinct number on this sample ballot.

On your real ballot there should be on the top corner 2 initials of 2 separate Election Judges, otherwise it is an invalid ballot.

This post was a courtesy to our Republican voters and to dissatisfied DFLers, Independents, Conservatives as well. We were not compensated for posting this by any of the candidates nor any committee formed about the Ballot questions.

Feel free to subscribe to our website, it is free. The only time you’ll see something from us is when we post up an article or an event.

You may take our suggestions, or exercise your free will in voting. If you vote on or before election day please be nice to the Election Judges especially later in the day. They get a lunch and dinner break but it’s a long day for them. Many of our delegates are Election Judges.  While you don’t need your ID to vote, if you want to show it you can, it isn’t illegal. If you get undue attention for showing it to the Poll Pad judge feel free to report them as they are not in their training supposed to make voters feel uncomfortable or patronized by election judges.  You do have to show your ID at the Same Day Registration Judge Desk if you are registering a new address, or haven’t voted in 4 years. You will have to show ID if you are vouching for someone, it’s not as it is shown in some reports about vouching.

Thanks for voting, and make sure your family, friends and neighbors vote.  — admin

Ramsey County Commission District 3 Forum Greg Copeland vs 3 DFL Candidates October 8 2026

By permission from the Greg Copeland Campaign for Ramsey County Commission District 3, we are reposting this post from the gregcopeland911.wordpress.com website which was originally post on October 26, 2026 “Ramsey County Commission District 3, 4, and 6 LWV Forum October 8 2026.”  Ramsey County Commission District 3 takes in all of HD 66B, parts of HD 66A, and HD 65A (map link here). The clarifications & comments in the post are from Greg Copeland’s administrator of his site, known by a pen name of Publius Jr. — admin

A Note to Readers:  There is only 1 contested race in this forum in District 3 between the DFL endorsed candidate Garrison McMurtrey and Greg Copeland who is running in a nonpartisan race.  Greg has run for the legislature as an endorsed Republican but in this race he is a nonpartisan candidate. He had asked the LWV why there are 2 other candidates answering questions and they told him that voters want to know the opinions of those in uncontested races. So 3 DFL endorsed candidates get 3 minutes to answer a question to 1 nonpartisan and a previously endorsed Republican Legislative candidate who gets only 1 minute to respond. Does that seem fair for a “Nonpartisan” group to do that? That’s why their Nonpartisan claim needs to be challenged and their nonprofit status too. They are an arm of the DFL Party in this state and this is the kind of nonsense they pull.

This video has all the questions asked of the candidates, and when the responses are have timestamps on them starting from the start of the video. The SPNN/LWV Team doesn’t set it up on their videos with “Chapters” or breaks marking when questions are asked. They aren’t kind to their viewers. If their forums were merely informational they would make sure the audience who views the video would know when and what is being asked. ~~ Publius Jr.

For the sake of fairness, to start off we will not list the incumbent’s title, just what party endorsed them. We’ll list the Candidates in the Original Electoral Colors prior the #NewsMafia’s switcheroo in 2006. Republicans will be in Dark Royal Blue (Greg Copeland is running as a nonpartisan but to local media they treat him as Republican and so will this post), and the Socialist Democrats will be Communist Red (Socialists, Communists, Fasciists, Nazis all had a common color they embraced which was Red. See the CCCP or Red Chinese Flag which is all Red f0r reference).

Greg Copeland nonpartisan candidate for District 3

Garrison McMurtrey DFL endorsed candidate for District 3

Rena Moran DFL endorsed candidate for District 4

Mai Chong Xiong DFL endorsed candidate for District 6 (She is a DSA endorsed candidate)

DSA = Democratic Socialist of America

  • There are 13 Questions and Opening & Closing Statements. You can click on the “continue reading” below question 4 to see the rest of the questions asked and when each candidate answered.

I’ve put in parentheses clarifications of something someone has said, and in Square Brackets my thought that the candidates missed. The links to maps are from my website where I’m the admin and chief writer as well. The website is just a website and not party of the state party and can’t endorse anyone, but have suggested to R Voters who to support in various races.

Time Stamps from the start of the video above

1:00-1:56 Kim McCoy who is a member of the LWV of St Paul does an introduction of what forum it is and then explains what areas are in each Ramsey County Commission District.

  • District 3: Falcon Heights, St Anthony Park (Western edge of St Paul), Payne-Phalen (East Side of St Paul up to Ward 6 Precinct 6), North End (North Central St Paul), South Como [just west of North End and South of Como Park], Frogtown (St Paul), Hamline-Midway (St Paul) See our Map of District 3 link
  • District 4: Parts of Highland Park, Macalester-Groveland, Lexington-Hamline, Merriam Park, Desnoyer Park, Crocus Hill, and Summit are all neighborhoods of St Paul. See our Map of District 4 link.
  • District 6: Greater East Side, Payne-Phalen (east of Ward 6 Precinct 6), Dayton’s Bluff, Conway, and Highwood Hills which are neighborhoods of St Paul. See our Map of District 6 link.

1:57- 5:47  She explains the rules. She asks that members of the audience to not video the forum. So none of this video is edited on our end. She says members of the press can edit the video [I don’t have a press badge, but some consider me as a citizen journalist, I don’t get compensated like the #NewsMafia does, I don’t have video-editing as a skill yet].

The Rules she states are that each candidate can have an opening and closing statement that is 2 minutes long each, and can only have 1 minute to respond to a question. All candidates have agreed to it. If quoted by another candidate, the candidate can have a 30 second rebuttal. She says she will allow a candidate who does go over time to finish their thought before cutting them off.

She says the opening statements will be done according to alphabetical order and then she’ll randomly call on candidates during the forum so no candidate will always be first or last in the questioning.

She talks about questions submitted prior to the forum and questions can be asked from the audience using note cards, then they review them. (Mostly questions asked that hold the incumbent DFLer accountable are never asked, because the LWV of St Paul are “nonpartisan”). Questions have to apply to all candidates and can’t be of a personal nature.

Opening Statements (2 minutes each)

6:13  Greg Copeland

8:19  Garrison McMurtrey (He is another TDS person attacking President Trump. The “nonpartisan” moderator should stop him from doing this but she doesn’t)

10:15  Rena Moran (When she was the MN HD 65A DFL Representative often in her district there were stoppages of Interstate 94 by voters who had kept her in office. In some cases those “voters” threw cinderblocks, rocks from overpasses and pedestrian walkways down at State Troopers and St Paul Police who came to disperse them from a Federal Interstate Highway, often injuring law enforcement seriously and some have permanent injuries. She never discouraged them or berated them in public).

11:43 Mai Chong Xiong  (what’s wrong with the moderator? Mai Xiong has made ICE into a golem that terrorizes when she and the other TDS sufferers don’t realize they are encouraging Foreign Invaders to come here and rip off the overburdened taxpayers. The TDS attacks are overstepping the rules of this “calm” and “neutral” forum).

Kim McCoy says she’ll call on the candidates in a random order. That’s odd as stated above there’s only 1 contested race and Greg Copeland nor Garrison McMurtrey should have to respond to a candidate in an uncontested race. It’s simply unfair and the 3 to 1 set up shows their incompetence or as I learned from President Obama that it’s a deliberate action.

14:04 Question 1: If you could tell us what your top 3 priorities are upon joining the County Board [The County Commission]?

14:14  Garrison McMurtrey

15:17  Mai Chong Xiong

16:22  Rena Moran (it’s almost as if these 3 are reading from the same script that was provided to them. They all use the same vocabulary and I’ve never heard the word “continuum” used so often)

17:41  Greg Copeland

19:04  Question 2: Are you anticipating any security issues regarding voting and voting rights in this election? As a County Commissioner, what precautions would you support to protect voting rights?

19:17  Rena Moran

20:13  Garrison McMurtrey

21:19  Greg Copeland

22:28  Mai Chong Xiong

23:27 Question 3:  After complications with the closure of the Pig’s Eye Park homeless encampment in August, St Paul and Ramsey County have temporarily paused efforts to close down other camps. Some Ramsey County residents are concerned that future closure efforts will leave unhoused [homeless] camp residents without adequate support. What should Ramsey County be doing to address homelessness and the growing encampments?

23:55  Mai Chong Xiong

24:53  Greg Copeland

25:58  Garrison McMurtrey

27:05  Rena Moran

28:14 Question 4:  Many working families identify increasing cost of living such as food and gasoline prices as a major hardship. What would you believe your role in addressing these issues as a county commissioner?

28:28  Greg Copeland

29:33  Mai Chong Xiong

30:57  Rena Moran

32:04  Garrison McMurtrey

Pioneer Press Q & A with Ramsey County Commission District 3 Candidates Greg Copeland & Sen Clare Verbeten’s husband

This post is from the website of gregcopeland911.wordpress.com by permission of the Greg Copeland Campaign, which was originally posted on October 25, 2026 under the name, “Pioneer Press Questions Asked and Answered to Greg Copeland for Ramsey County District 3.” — admin

Map of Ramsey County Commission District 3 link

Ramsey County District 3 has all of HD 66B in it.

This post is an excerpt from the Pioneer Press’ October 5, 2026 Post “2026 Election Ramsey County Races: Here’s a look at who is running.”

Initially the idea was to just put Greg’s information here.  Then seeing the incumbent’s answers to the same questions seem like a word salad that really says he isn’t qualified to serve on the board. Then the fact he was endorsed by the DFL in a nonpartisan race says he has no qualifications. One of his goals listed in his Top Priorities is to attack President Trump and resist his restoration of the Republic here. McMurtrey would rather have a sanctuary for Foreign Invaders where there are more of them at Metro Square asking for SNAP & General Assistance instead of to Needy US Citizens and Disabled Veterans. His wife Senator Clare Verbeten has the same mentality over at the Minnesota Senate.

All the social malaise and economic misery in Ramsey County is due to a Board that serves a Party rather than We The People. There is a clear choice in this race and that’s to elect someone with common sense to the County board instead of someone who thinks Affordability is all about taking more money out of your pocket to spend it foolishly. Then blaming others for their failures.

Ramsey County Board District 3

Greg Copeland  Age: 72

What would your top priorities be if elected?

Fiscal Reform & Right-Size the scope of County Government which would Reduce Spending and Cut Property Tax Levies.

Since 2023 spending has increased by $180 Million and annual tax hikes have almost doubled, 4.54% in 2024 to 8.25% in 2026; and Commissioners approved another 8.25% increase in the 2027 Maximum Levy!

Ramsey County must get out of the LRT, Trolley and Bus Line business, and leave building the $373.2 Million Bronze BusLine Roadway from Downtown to Maplewood Mall to the MET Council!

The RC Regional Rail Authority and its’ $36.2 Million Property Tax Levy ended.

Additionally Ramsey County should cancel their $320 Million “Building Together” program to build a riverfront park in Downtown St. Paul for $140 Million, there are already a dozen Downtown Parks, plus Harriet Island and Raspberry Island!

The County should leave the proposed $100 Million in new streetlights, sidewalks and roads to the City of St. Paul. Also rather than spend $70 Million to fix -up surplus properties before placing them on the market, let’s just get them listed for sale now!

What qualifies you to hold this position?

City Manager of Maplewood, 2006-2008.

St. Paul Capital Improvement Board, CIB, 1994 – 2000.

St. Paul Charter Commission 1996-2008.

Fomer Community Action Agency Deputy Director

Private Industry Council Contract Compliance Monitor

Community College Trustee and Government Reporter.

B.A. Political Science, Saint Leo University, Saint Leo Florida

Graduate Studies In Public Administration & Management Hamline University, Saint Paul Minnesota

What do you think is the primary role of government?

Provide for the Public’s Safety & Administration of Justice.

Effective, Efficient and fiscally accountable delivery of vital Public Heath and Human Services to protect vulnerable adults and children as well as critical infrastructure, roads, bridges and stormwater drainage.

Supporting employment services for job seekers and employers and intellectual pursuits through Libraries and Recreational activities for all ages.

Innovative Partnerships with other governments to advance sustainable solutions to complex problems such as First Time Home Ownership leveraging financial opportunities to involve banks and foundations are of particular value to meet societal challenges.

How do you work to understand, and then learn from, opinions that differ from your own and people who disagree with you?

Limiting the people, the taxpayers to only three minutes is not a productive way to gather information or exchange opinions on public policy. This has been current practice for many years at all public hearings, and if there is no public hearing there is no interaction with the Commissioners and the voters, whose silence is commanded!

The County Commission must act to engage in new ways with the public, such as public question and answer sessions, or District Forums with individual commissioners on important topics to the community.

Being receptive to frequent open public discussions is important to engage citizens in serious conversations and collaborative policy making.

I see enhanced public engagement as critical to addressing and understanding public expectations.

It is Time for a Change!

Same questions to Garrison McMurtrey

Garrison McMurtry  Age: 37

What would your top priorities be if elected?

Since, I have only been in this position for a year and a half, many of my priorities from last year, still stand. Overall, I want to continue to fight for economic justice and ensure that it is at the forefront of the work that we do at the county. A few specific areas that I want to focus on are 1. Prioritizing growing our tax base to ensure that we can lessen the burden on property taxes. 2. Growing our affordable housing stock and investing in the entire housing continuum so that residents remain on the path to stable and secure housing. 3. Investing in multimodal infrastructure that supports families, workers and businesses. Under all of this work will also be my commitment to fight back again the Trump administration and their attacks on the basic needs of our community.

What qualifies you to hold this position?

I have had the honor of serving in this role for the last year and a half since winning a selection election last year. I have learned a lot in that time on the inner working of county government and have built strong relationship with stakeholders who will help provide solutions to residents. In addition to my time serving on the board, I also bring the lived experience of someone who has had to rely on the services provided my our county government. Growing up, my family needed SNAP to put food on the table. So, when I see the cuts and cost shifts that the federal government is making to that program, it makes me think of my family and countless others that will be directly impacted. As well as the role we must play at the county level to protect our communities and fight for the resources we need.

What do you think is the primary role of government?

I continue to believe that the role of government is to step up and ensure that all of the people in our community have an opportunity and an environment where they can thrive. County government in particular is often times overlooked and yet we are the safety net for so many in our community. I also believe it’s our responsibility to ensure that the public is aware of what we offer and how we can help make their lives better.

How do you work to understand, and then learn from, opinions that differ from your own and people who disagree with you?

Relationship building and getting to know individuals as human beings has always been my key to working with folks who have differing views than myself. Taking the time to understand their point of view and lived experience, as well as where we might align on the end goal, has helped create a space to robust, respectful conversations. Then through that relationship and understanding, we can work towards solutions.
