Republican Seniors of Minnesota Streaming Guest Royce White on Sept 9th

There are many Affiliates to the Republican Party of Minnesota. The Republican Seniors of Minnesota is one of them. Often times their monthly email shows up in the inbox and it will announce some interesting guest speakers at their meeting. The problem is it’s usually in the morning on a Tuesday at 9:30 am at the Knights of Columbus/Bloomington Events Center, 1114 American Boulevard West, Bloomington, Map.  The best solution to this problem is if they could somehow stream the meeting so one could listen to their monthly guest speakers.

Guess what? They are streaming their meetings and posting their previous meeting videos on their YouTube and Rumble Channels.

September 9th Meeting Guest Speakers

Their September 9th meeting is going to have the 2024 Endorsed MNGOP US Senate Candidate Royce White at it in the first hour. Then they will have Rick Smith from the Sons of the American Revolution afterwards.

2025 #ProLifeSunday Happy Grandparents Day Sept 7th

Marian McQuade might not be a household name, but she was one of two people who helped launch a Holiday to honor Grandparents across the country.

The first was Jacob Reingold. In 1961 during the White House Conference on Aging, Jacob Reingold of Hebrew Home at Riverdale NY, was inspired by a speech about a new image of the aged. So he worked to get a special day for grandparents to be recognized on September 16, 1961 at Hebrew Home. In 1963 it became an official holiday for the borough of the Bronx, NY.

In 1970 Marian McQuade of West Virginia advocated for a special day to recognize grandparents. By 1973 she had worked with business, faith, political and civic leaders to convince Governor Arch Moore to hold the First Grandparents Day in West Virginia.

In 1978 the US Congress proclaimed the first Sunday after Labor Day to be National Grandparents Day. President Jimmy Carter signed the proclamation.

Americans are living longer and the life after retirement seems to become longer as well. Senior Citizens sometimes withdraw from what they used to enjoy when they were working. Their children and grandchildren need to respect and spend more time with them to learn about the triumphs of the past and educate each other as grandparents mentor future generations.  Even if you no longer have living grandparents, older neighbors certainly can benefit from periodic visits from their younger neighbors. You can learn from each other.

Be Wary of the DFL Mini-Donut Stand at the MN State Fair

The DFL Mini-Donut Stand is at Coordinates 44°58’51.5″N 93°10’25.0″W

If you buy products from this mini-donut stand you will be unknowingly (or knowingly if you are a DFLer) funding DFL Candidates through the Best Fair Foods Political Action Committee, what had been the 10th Ward Rural Ramsey County Political Committee, through 2020 when it was terminated to start under the new name.

Some Recent DFL recipients since Redistricting in 2022:

  • Senate District 66 DFL in 2022 received $6300. The 3 SD 66 DFL candidates that year were Rep Athena Hollins, Chris “Leigh” Finke, and Clare Oumou Verbeten. The latter 2 were running for the first time for office.
  • Mostly DFL Party Units for SD 36, 39, 40, 44, 65 and 66

So it is up to you to be wary of this location.  With every purchase there you are helping DFLers defeat Republicans in Minnesota.

Now these folks make a lot of money at the state fair from mini-donuts that would make the health conscious zealots cringe.  The booth is not marked as the DFL Mini Donut Stand,  there is no disclaimer on the booth as to where the money of this group goes to.

There ought to be a law that requires them to reveal who they are and where the money goes.

Rep Randy Jessup & Sen Roger Chamberlain tried to Make a Law

Almost every session of the MN State Legislature, there is a bill that Republicans put together that requires groups that raise money at the State Fair or other public events to show on a visible sign where the money goes to.  It isn’t making their operation illegal, but they want the customers to have all the information about the vendor before they make a purchase.

During the 2017 Session former Rep Randy Jessup of 42A & former Sen Roger Chamberlain SD 38 had made similar bills that were added to the Omnibus bill.  They were not signed into law by then DFL Governor Mark Dayton.

Rep Jessup did say there is a limit on the number of bags of donuts one can purchase–4 bags.  Any more than 4 you purchase they will have to make a record of it being a contribution.

They do tell their volunteers who work there to not wear any sort of political statements on their clothes, hats, or even buttons.

MISSION & HISTORY

The National Veterans Wheelchair Games is the world’s largest annual wheelchair sports and rehabilitation event solely for military veterans. The event demonstrates the unstoppable character of veterans and seeks to foster wider respect and opportunities for all people with disabilities.

The National Veterans Wheelchair Games is open to all U.S. veterans with spinal cord injuries, amputations, multiple sclerosis, or other central neurological conditions who require a wheelchair for athletic competition. Every year, hundreds of American heroes from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the post-9/11 era compete in this celebration of sport, courage and camaraderie.

EMPOWERING VETERANS SINCE 1981!

The Department of Veterans Affairs launched the Wheelchair Games in 1981 with 7 events and 77 athletes. Paralyzed Veterans of America joined the VA in 1985 to help expand the event’s mission and reach. The Wheelchair Games has flourished as more VA therapists turn to adaptive sports to help veterans become more active in their lives and communities – and, in some cases, reach higher levels of national and international competition. Over the years, thousands of veterans with disabilities have gained the skills, confidence, and experience to take on challenges in the spirit of opportunity rather than limitation.

The last time Minneapolis hosted the event was in 2005.
